Ayurveda: The Science of Life
Ayurveda is the system of preventative health care that comes from the ancient Vedic civilisation of India, from where our meditation technique comes originates.
The word ‘Ayurveda’ is a combination of two Sanskrit words, ayus which means ‘life’ and veda which means ‘knowledge’ or ‘science’. Ayurveda is therefore traditionally translated as ‘the science of life’ and has succeeded in demonstrating that the key to good health is through the balancing of the mind and awareness of the body.
This ancient form of healthcare gives us deep insights into how to lead our lives in harmony and fulfilment, and thus in great health. The sages of ancient India were the first to cognise, systematise and develop their insights into a way of sustaining a life of happiness and health, which, in their view, is the birthright of every human being.
